The working economy is at a difficult time right now. With few workers and desperate owner-operators, the “how can I help you,” attitude is going away. I see service companies turn away an unprecedented number of new business because of low staffing issues. If we are understaffed, the fault is ours, never the labor force. Nobody is allowed to say the words, “nobody wants to work anymore,” because that is a defeatist attitude. We are overstaffed. We have plenty of people. We are thriving and it isn’t by accident. We have better systems to do it.
Our company has put in place systems for when crap hits the fan—and it will; we anticipate it. We know employees will call off sick. We know employees will go on vacation. What better reason to never stop hiring, and to never stop growing.
